Ferdaus

This poem is a eulogy to the uniqueness and rare miracle of Planet Earth. It is the only habitable place in the Universe, and as such the only known paradise for life, including all human life. Those who yearn for the fictitious Garden of Eden or paradise (ferdaus) promised in religion, commit the ultimate travesty of mind and soul. The Earth can be likened to a boat afloat in the depths of the Universe, carrying all forms of life, and all promise of beauty. If we go through this life without realizing this truth, then our lives will have been lived in vain. It is important for us to value and protect our planet, for this is the very paradise for which we search in vain beyond our shores.
